(with my personal story of guilt and shame)
I’ll be honest—this one has been hard for me to write.
Because not long ago, I found myself wrestling with something I didn’t expect: guilt for wanting more.
I’ve spent most of my life helping others heal, guiding them to feel empowered, abundant, and free. But when it came to my own financial expansion, something inside me clenched. I felt guilty for desiring prosperity. Ashamed for wanting comfort. Embarrassed to even say it out loud.
And let's be honest, many of us in the spiritual community poo-poo the idea of financial abundance because we feel we are above the need or want for money.
And yet, beneath that shame was a truth I couldn’t ignore: I wasn’t afraid of money.
I was afraid of what people would think if I had it.
Why We Equate Wealth with Morality
Especially in the spiritual and wellness world, we’re taught that purity and prosperity don’t mix. That wanting more means you’re greedy or “less spiritual.”
But here’s the paradox: money is not moral. It’s magnetic.
Money is frequency. It simply amplifies who you already are.
When I began seeing income as energy instead of hierarchy, things began to change in my thoughts and actions.
Because the truth is, abundance doesn’t corrupt you, it reveals you.
The Hidden Shame Around Prosperity
When we hold shame around receiving, we unconsciously block the very flow we pray for.
Shame lowers frequency - it creates incoherence between what we say we want and what we allow ourselves to experience.
I realized that my guilt wasn’t about money - it was about visibility. About being seen as successful in a world that still celebrates self-sacrifice, especially in women.
But abundance isn’t taking from others. It’s proof that you’ve learned to hold energy sustainably.
The Nervous System of Receiving
Your capacity to hold wealth mirrors your capacity to hold energy.
If your nervous system equates expansion with danger (criticism, jealousy, or isolation) it will self-sabotage to return to “safe” scarcity.
This is why so many women manifest a little abundance, then unconsciously push it away. The body can’t hold what it doesn’t yet feel safe receiving.
To expand your capacity, start small:
Notice moments of receiving: a compliment, a gift, an extra hour of sleep, and breathe through the discomfort instead of deflecting it.
That’s how your system learns that receiving is safe.
Money as Neutral Energy
Think of money as voltage. It flows where attention and alignment go.
When you invest in healing, education, or conscious business, you’re not “spending”, you’re directing energy into expansion.
When you hoard or fear it, the current stagnates.
The universe isn’t judging how much you make; it’s reading the vibration you emit while making it.
My Breakthrough Moment
There was a day recently when I caught myself downplaying my success to avoid making someone uncomfortable. I felt that wave of shame rise, and then something inside me pinged: Stop apologizing for thriving.
In that moment, I realized: abundance is not an apology - it’s evidence of alignment.
So I took a breath, smiled, and said, “Yes, things are going really well.”
That sentence was my initiation.
And the energy in my field shifted instantly.
If You’ve Felt This Too…
Know this: you are not greedy for wanting more ease. You are not unspiritual for desiring overflow. You are expanding the bandwidth of what’s possible for your lineage.
When conscious women create wealth, they heal scarcity trauma in their DNA.
They model that safety and success can coexist.
They circulate energy through generosity, not guilt.
Affirmation for Integration
“It’s safe to receive.
It’s safe to expand.
I am worthy of overflow that supports my highest purpose.”
If this message resonates, try this practice:
Each morning, place your hand on your heart and whisper, “It’s safe for me to receive.”
Then spend one minute visualizing energy flowing into your life (money, support, joy) and exhale gratitude into the world.
That’s the frequency of sustainable wealth: grounded, grateful, and guilt-free.
